So I've been working on this comic book to accompany a game being developed by the World Bank. It's all geared toward teaching and promoting social innovation and entrepreneurism.
They are going to premier it at the TED conference this month using this trailer.

More Life drawing. This model had a great haircut that gave a strong dome shape to her head and bangs that were wonderful for showing the ellipse of her brow line. Fun eyes to draw as well but I didn't do any devoted head studies. Maybe next time. Poses are 2 min, 5 min and 20 min.

I was thinking about cyborgs and how they are always depicted as specimens of perfect health and fitness that also happen to have robotic limbs/ body parts. But what about down the line when they are in their 40's, tired of working out all the time, and consuming beer like water. Well here's what I think that would look like.

Evil brain in a jar... It sounds more intimidating if you say "evil" pronounced "eaveaul" (try moving your mouth a lot to accentuate the phonetics as well if you can).

I don't know how these have a reputation for being able to inflict injury or cause calamity. Really, it seems like being held captive in a jar would keep it out of mischief.

I'm going to try to be better about doing a post at least once a week. This week is the Grey Alien.

Anyhow in the spirit of the current xenophobia I suggest we build a giant space wall to keep these little grey guys from coming here illegally and using up our precious resources. I know what you are going to say "They take the jobs no one else will: like being experimented on, scaring small towns to the point of hysteria and performing random acts of anal probe.". I've heard the arguments and I say that good hard working Americans are willing to take those jobs as soon as they offer a decent wage and are not fictional.

The Orphan Works Act of 2008 will be officially released momentarily.

The language in the draft confirms our warnings. If this bill passes, you’ll be forced to clear all your secondary licensing rights through at least two government certified databases – or risk orphaning your art.

Despite its masquerade as the "last resort" to search for a rights owner, these databases will likely become the only source many users will rely on for finding a rights owner. Reason: it will give users the legal right to infringe any copyright not in the databases.

We’re working with our attorney now to prepare opposition letters.

We have contracted CapWiz, a service that will allow you to send these letters to Congress with a push of the button.

CapWiz will also provide us with "digital stickers" that anyone else - organizations, individual artists, blogs, etc. - can put on their sites that create a direct link to the command center to write their Congressman and Senators to defeat this radical change to U.S. Copyright law

Please stay tuned and we’ll tell you in a day or so what you can do to register your opposition.
